Story
▶ 20. Testing Time
Mathew: Well, Bobby, before the meeting gets started, I want to have something to eat.
Can someone please tell me what I have to do to get a homemade French country-style vegetarian burger around here?
Jenny: I can get you one, Mr. Morris.
Mathew: Thank you, Jenny.
Ted: Come with me, Jenny. Since you are new here, I will get you a triple-shot organic soybean café latte. Does it sound okay, Mr. Morris?
Mathew: Teddy, that sounds perfect. You always look after everyone so well.
Bob: Um, where are you going, Dr. Wali?
Dr. Wali: Ah, me? Well… I am about to leave to get you… ur... mmm… is there anything else you need, Mr. Morris?
Mathew: No, Doctor. I am perfectly fine. As you know, I'm not really a picky person. Thank you for your effort, though.
But remember, Dr. Wali, there will be abundant opportunities available to people like you who try their best. You will get your chance. Maybe tomorrow.
Dr. Wali: Er, well..
Mathew: Oh, you don’t need to thank me.
Giving valuable advice and being a supportive friend is one of the purposes of my visit. It was my pleasure. Think nothing of it. Alright, shall we move on, Bob?
